Inflamación de la glándula salivar. Cuando la inflamación es primaria o esencialmente del parénquima, se trata de una sialadenitis y cuando es canalicular se denomina sialodocitis.
<(A.): Parotitis: es handelt sich um eine Entzündung der Ohrspeicheldrüse (Glandula parotidea). Man unterscheidet eine Parotitis acuta und eine Parotitis epidemica.
<(F.): Parotidite: inflammation de la parotide, d’habitude due à une infection remontant le canal de Sténon par manque d’hygiène de la bouche ou insuffisance de la sécrétion salivaire à la suite d’une grave maladie ou d’une opération.
<(Ing.): Parotitis: it is an inflammation of one or both parotid glands, the major salivary glands located on either side of the face, in humans. The parotid gland is the salivary gland most commonly affected by inflammation.
