HIPOCAMPO.

 
   Hippocampus: elevación curvada de materia gris que se extiende a lo largo de toda la base del asta temporal del ventrículo lateral. Se suele considerar que el hipocampo está formado por siete subcapas que son, empezando por las más próximas al ventrículo: el epéndimo, álveo, el estrato oriens, el estrato piramidal, el estrato radiado, el estrato lagunoso y el estrato molecular.
 
   <(A.): Hippocampus: eine seepferdchenförmige Struktur, die sich im Gehirn befindet und als wichtiger Teil des limbischen Systems betrachtet wird. Er ist einer der am meisten untersuchten Bereiche des Gehirns und funktioniert beim Lernen, Gedächtnis und bei Emotionen. Ammonshornteilung der Hippocampusformation, gekennzeichnet durch eine dreischichtige archikortikale Struktur; unterteilt in (cornu ammonis)-Felder, CA1-CA4. Zusammen mit den anderen Teilen der Hippocampusformation im medialen Temporallappen ist der eigentliche Hippocampus an deklarativen Kurzzeitgedächtnisprozessen beteiligt. Lokalisation: medialer Temporallappen. Funktion: an der Gedächtnisgewinnung beteiligt.
 
   <(F.): Hippocampe: il s’agit d’une des structures qui se trouvent au sein du système limbique et qui est située au cœur du prosencéphale. Il aide à réguler les émotions et la mémoire.
 
   <(In.): Hippocampus: a seahorse-shaped structure located within the brain and considered an important part of the limbic system. One of the most studied areas of the brain, it functions in learning, memory, and emotion. Ammon's horn division of the hippocampal formation characterized by three-layered archicortical structure; subdivided into (cornu ammonis) fields, CA1-CA4. Together with the other parts of the hippocampal formation in the medial temporal lobe, the hippocampus proper is involved in short-term declarative memory processes. Location: medial temporal lobe. Function: involved in memory acquisition.
