GLOSECTOMIA.

     
   Resección parcial o total de la lengua, como parte del tratamiento de lesiones cancerosas o precancerosas.
   Sinónimos: glosotomía.
 
   <(F): Glossectomie: c'est l'ablation de la langue. Elle peut être partielle ou plus ou moins totale. Elle se pratique en général en raison d'une tumeur maligne de la langue (tumeur dont la cause est le plus souvent une forte intoxication alcoolo-tabagique).
 
   <(Ing): Glossectomy: is the surgical removal of all or part of the tongue. Is performed to treat cancer of the tongue. Removing the tongue is indicated if the patient has a cancer that does not respond to other forms of treatment. In most cases, however, only part of the tongue is removed (partial glossectomy). Cancer of the tongue is considered very dangerous due to the fact that it can easily spread to nearby lymph glands.
