Cerebellum: porción del encéfalo que ocupa la parte póstero-inferior del cráneo, situado entre el cerebro por arriba y la protuberancia y el bulbo por abajo, por detrás del tronco cerebral. Consta de un lóbulo medio y dos lóbulos laterales que están unidos con las demás partes del encéfalo por tres pedúnculos. Tienen por función la coordinación de los movimientos mediante conexiones con la protuberancia, la médula oblonga, la médula espinal y el tálamo.
