Cartílago embrionario formado por condensación del mesénquima del segundo arco branquial, o arco hioideo, del que se formará el estribo.
<(A): Reichert'scher Knorpel, zweiter Rachenbogenknorpel: Knorpel im Mesenchym des zweiten Rachenbogens im Embryo, aus dem der Steigbügel, der Processus styloideus, das Unterhorn und der Oberkörper des Zungenbeins hervorgehen; sein proximales Ende bildet das Stylohyoidband.
<(F): Cartilage de Reichert: d'origine ectomésenchymateuse (au niveau de la partie craniale du myélencéphale). Il est également très allongé. Son extrémité postérieure donne l'étrier de l'oreille moyenne et l'apophyse styloïde du temporal. Sur la plupart de son trajet il formera le ligament stylo-hyoïdien. Son extrémité antérieure donne la petite corne de l'os hyoïde.
