Término que se utiliza en medicina para designar la ausencia completa de uno o ambos ojos.
<(A.): Anophthalmie: unter diesem Begriff versteht man das angeborene Fehlen der Augenanlage. Eine einseitige Anophthalmie bezeichnet man als Monophthalmie (Einäugigkeit).Sie tritt relativ häufig beim Pätau-Syndrom (Trisomie 13), beim Fraser-Syndrom und bei Holoprosencephalie auf.
<(F.): Anophtalmie: l’anophtalmie, degré extrême de la microphtalmie, est une malformation rare caractérisée par l’absence d’un ou des deux yeux à la naissance.
<(Ing.):Anophthalmia: it is the medical term for the absence of one or both eyes. Both the globe (human eye) and the ocular tissue are missing from the orbit. The absence of the eye will cause a small bony orbit, a constricted mucosal socket, short eyelids, reduced palpebral fissure and malar prominence.
