AGUJERO OCCIPITAL

 
   Foramen magnum: orificio ovalado situado en la parte inferior del hueso occipital. Mide aproximadamente unos 35 mm de delante a atrás y 30 mm en sentido trasversal. Pone en comunicación la cavidad craneal con el conducto raquídeo y da paso al bulbo, a las arterias vertebrales y a cada lado al nervio espinal.
   Sinónimos: foramen magnum.
 
   <(F.): Trou occipital: ouverture ovale situé dans la partie inférieure de l'os occipital. Il mesure environ 35 mm d'avant en arrière et 30 mm en travers. Il met la cavité crânienne en communication avec le canal rachidien et cède la place au bulbe, aux artères vertébrales et de chaque côté au nerf spinal.
 
   <(In.): Foramen mágnum: Oval hole located in the lower part of the occipital bone. It measures approximately 35 mm from front to back and 30 mm crosswise. It puts the cranial cavity in communication with the spinal canal and gives way to the bulb, to the vertebral arteries and to each side to the spinal nerve.
