Inmunosupresor selectivo. Inhibe la activación de los linfocitos T mediante la unión específica a CD80 y CD86, en la superficie del antígeno presentador de células (APC), bloqueando así la interacción entre el APC y los linfocitos T que expresan CD28. También disminuye la producción de mediadores inflamatorios tales como TNFα, IL-2 e interferón-γ.

Es hemmt die Aktivierung von T-Lymphozyten durch spezifische Bindung an CD80 und CD86 auf der Oberfläche der antigenpräsentierenden Zellen (APC) und blockiert so die Interaktion zwischen APC und T-Lymphozyten, die CD28 exprimieren. Außerdem verringert es die Produktion von Entzündungsmediatoren wie TNFα, IL-2 und Interferon-γ.
