 Nervi auricularis posterior: rama mixta del nervio facial, motora y receptora de sensibilidad general. Nace justamente por debajo del agujero estilomastoideo, pasa por delante el vientre posterior del digástrico, luego cruza el borde anterior de la apófisis mastoides y asciende por su cara externa dividiéndose en dos ramas, siendo su recorrido paralelo a la arteria auricular posterior. La rama ascendente sube por detrás del oído e inerva los músculos auriculares posterior y superior así como la piel de la región mastoidea. En algunos casos esta rama da algunos ramos para el CAE de tipo sensitivo. La otra rama es posterior, rama occipital, discurre horizontalmente llegado a inervar el músculo occipital y la piel de la región mastoidea, esta rama da una anastomosis al nervio occipital de Arnold.
<(F): Nerf auriculaire postérieur: branche du nerf facial quand il sort du crâne, qui passe au dessus de l´oreille pour se distribuer au muscle auriculaire postérieur et au ventre occipital du muscle occipito-frontal. <(Ing): Auricular nerve posterior: arises close to the stylomastoid foramen and runs upward in front of the mastoid process; here it is joined by a filament from the auricular branch of the vagus and communicates with the posterior branch of the great auricular as well as with the lesser occipital. Branches: communicating branch for auricular branch of vagus, communicating branch for posterior branch of lesser occipital nerve, communicating branch for posterior branch of greater auricular nerve, auricular branch, occipital branch.
