 Musculus constrictor pharyngis medius: tiene su en el borde superior del asta mayor del hioides y del asta menor y del extremo inferior del ligamento estilohioideo. Se inserta en el rafe mediano vertical. <(F.): Muscle constricteur moyendu pharynx: il a la forme d'un éventail. Il s'insère en avant, par deux faisceaux, sur la grande et la petite corne de l'os hyoïde. Ses fibres supérieures sont ascendantes et remontent jusqu'au voisinage des insertions basilaires du constricteur supérieur; les fibres inférieures sont descendantes et atteignent le niveau du bord inférieur du cartilage thyroïde. <(In.): Middle constrictor muscle of pharynx: A muscle with its origin in the stylohyoid ligament and the hyoid bone, with insertion to the pharyngeal raphe in the posterior wall of the pharynx, with nerve supply from the pharyngeal plexus, and whose action narrows the pharynx in swallowing.
