Annulus fibrosus tympanicus: anillo fibroso por el que la membrana timpánica se amarra o inserta a la ranura ósea que supone el surco timpánico a forma de un ligamento anular denominado ligamento de Gerlach o annulus fibrosus. Este anillo supone las cuatro quintas partes del orificio óseo que separa el oído externo del medio.

   <(F.): Ligament de Gerlach: bourrelet fibreux annulaire pour la insertion de le tympan dans le sillon tympanique (sulcus). Cet anneau, au niveau de l’échancrure de Rivinus, s’insère sur la courte apophyse du marteau en donnant les ligaments tympano-malléolaire antérieur et postérieur.

   <(In.): Annulus fibrosus tympanicus: is the thickened peripheral rim of the pars tensa of the tympanic membrane. It is an area into which the connective tissue matrix of the membrane extends to attach to the tympanic bone.
