   Larynx: aparato musculocartilaginoso, central y simétrico, hueco, tapizado interiormente por una mucosa, situado en la parte anterior y superior del cuello, delante de la faringe, debajo de la base de la lengua y encima de la tráquea con la que se continúa. Es el órgano productor de la voz.

   <(F): Larynx: est l'extrémité supérieure de la trachée qui contient les cordes vocales. Est la pièce maîtresse du système aérodigestif, il se trouve au carrefour de trois fonctions: la déglutition; la respiration; et la phonation.

   <(Ing): Larynx: an organ of the respiratory tract. The expanded upper end of the windpipe or trachea, connected with the hyoid bone or cartilage. It contains the vocal cords, which produce the voice by their vibrations, when they are stretched and a current of air passes between them. The larynx is connected with the pharynx by an opening, the glottis, which, in mammals, is protected by a lidlike epiglottis.
