   Tumor benigno constituido por células de la membrana que tapiza los ventrículos del cerebro y el conducto central de la médula espinal (epéndimo).

   <(F.): Épendymome: tumeur rare du système nerveux central correspondant à un gliome développé à l’intérieur des cavités ventriculaires du cerveau. Sa malignité est variable. Sa situation profonde, surtout dans les cavités médianes au contact de structures cérébrales assurant des fonctions vitales, rend son ablation chirurgicale souvent difficile.

   <(In.): Ependymoma: a glioma derived from relatively undifferentiated ependymal cells, comprising approximately 1–3% of all intracranial neoplasms; ependymomas occur in all age groups and may originate from the lining of any of the ventricles or, more commonly, from the central canal of the spinal cord; histologically, the neoplastic cells tend to be arranged radially about blood vessels, to which they are attached by means of fibrillary processes.
