Art. cerebri posterior: rama terminal del tronco basilar. Se encarga de la irrigación del lóbulo occipital y del área límbica; abarca toda el área visual y por lo tanto las lesiones de sus ramas causan defectos en la visión.

   <(Ing): Posterior cerebral artery: arise from the termination of the basilar artery. Major branches course around the midbrain and above the tentorium to supply the occipital lobe as well as the posteroinferior temporal lobe. Perforating arteries from the posterior cerebral arteries supply the midbrain, hypothalamus and inferior thalami. The posterior pericallosal artery are also branches of the posterior cerebral arteries.
