Art. pharyngea ascendens: es la rama más pequeña de la carótida externa; nace de la cara posterior casi al mismo nivel que la lingual; asciende verticalmente dando ramos a la pared de la faringe, a los músculos prevertebrales y la arteria meníngea posterior. Sinónimos: arteria faringo-meníngea.

Elle vascularise la pharynx, mais aussi la caisse du tympan et la dure-mère de la fosse crânienne postérieure.
