Producido por somatización, siendo la más llamativa una parálisis histérica del diafragma. Se caracteriza por respiración entrecortada y afonía. Para su diagnóstico deben cumplirse diversos sintomas : cuatro síntomas dolorosos, dos síntomas gastrointensinales un síntoma sexual y un síntoma seudoneutológico.
   Sinónimos: Histeria crónica, histeria de San Luis.
 
   <(A.): Brikettsyndrom: entsteht durch Somatisierung, wobei eine hysterische Lähmung des Zwerchfells am auffälligsten ist. Sie ist durch Atemnot und Aphonie gekennzeichnet. Für die Diagnose müssen mehrere Symptome beobachtet werden: vier schmerzhafte Symptome, zwei gastrointestinale Symptome, ein sexuelles Symptom und ein pseudo-neurologisches Symptom.
   Synonyme: Chronische Hysterie, St. Louis-Hysterie.

   <(F.): Syndrome du Briquet: produit par somatisation, le plus frappant étant une paralysie hystérique du diaphragme. Elle se caractérise par un essoufflement et une aphonie. Pour son diagnostic, plusieurs symptômes doivent être observés : quatre symptômes douloureux, deux symptômes gastro-intestinaux, un symptôme sexuel et un symptôme pseudo-neurologique.
