   Cuadro inflamatorio-infeccioso de la mucosa de las celdas mastoideas y de las estructuras óseas de la apófisis mastoides. Es la complicación más frecuente la otitis media aguda. En la época preantibiótica era frecuente, hoy es excepcional. Su tratamiento es médico-quirúrgico.
