MÁCULA SACULAR

   Sagitta: órgano otolítico del sáculo, tiene forma reniforme y está situada sobre la cara profunda del sáculo en un plano próximo a la vertical, sagital. Este plano forma prácticamente un ángulo recto con respecto al plano de la mácula utricular. Su superficie epitelial mira fundamentalmente hacia fuera.

   <(Ing): macula sacculli, macula of saccule: the oval neuroepithelial sensory receptor in the anterior wall of the saccule; hair cells of the neuroepithelium support the statoconial membrane and have terminal arborizations of vestibular nerve fibers around their bodies.
